CPPI Kicks off Women in Construction Week by Joining Glass Ceiling Panel
Orlando, Fla. – Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) is proud to share that our very own Corie Patton, Vice President of Healthcare Development, spoke alongside other leading women of the A/E/C industry about Breaking The Glass Ceiling on March 6 to kick off Women in Construction Week.
The fantastic event was hosted by ABC of Central Florida and NAWIC Greater Orlando Chapter 73, which is currently led by CPPI’s Project Manager Kristin Andreasen. We were thrilled to see so many members of CPPI come out to show their support.
When asked, what can you do to help mentor those on your team so they may break the glass ceiling as well? Patton responded, “Someone told me a long time ago as you become a leader, practice servant leadership for the betterment of those around you and in the communities to which you belong. I have been blessed to have some incredible mentors along the way: Louise Ellrod, Carol Walker, and Linda Hollingsworth, and they have all emulated this trait. As a servant leader, you use your leadership for the good of other people before your own. You work for the betterment of their career and not just your own personal means, thus making the overall organization and people within the organization stronger around you. That means not just telling Someone what to do but rather working alongside, gently guiding them, and having tough conversations that may be uncomfortable at first, but is also encouraging that individual to look at things from a different lens. I wouldn’t be where I am if I hadn’t had mentors do that for me.”
The panel discussion was truly inspiring, hosting some of the most accomplished women in the industry. They shared their insights, experiences, and stories of success.
Thank you to NAWIC Chapter 73 and ABC of Central Florida for making the event possible and to all the women who continue to blaze trails in construction. Here’s to a bright future filled with endless possibilities!
