The building houses laboratories and primary learning spaces for medical students and physician assistant students as well as education related offices and student support services. This project provides a specialized interdisciplinary learning environment that will meet the needs of medical student and physician assistant student educational programs. This project is LEED Gold Certified.

McKethan Stadium & Lemerand Center Expansion | University of Florida / University Athletic Association

This multi-building project included the expansion of McKethan Baseball Stadium, a new training facility, construction of a building for indoor hitting, renovation of the locker rooms in the Lemerand Center and a complete renovation of the plaza area surrounding the baseball stadium. In addition, a football equipment building was built on the adjacent football practice fields. The plaza renovations were completed for the start of the 2005 baseball season, while the construction of the new bullpen continued throughout the season. While the project is relatively small in building square footage – 24,000 square feet – CPPI faced many challenges including site access, site utilities and lack of laydown and staging areas. All work had to be done while school was in session, and activity had to work around the schedules of baseball and football, as well as track and soccer, which use adjacent fields, and the volleyball, basketball, track, and other teams that use the Lemerand Center locker rooms. This project is LEED Certified.

This 68,000 square foot single student housing facility offers a mix of Single Occupancy Suites, Double Occupancy Suites, Single and Double Occupancy ADA Enhanced Suites and several “Super Suite” style rooms where six residents would share one to three bathrooms and a living room space. The ADA Enhanced Suites include rooms for students with severe physical disabilities who require assistance in the performance of basic activities of daily living, making it only the second student residence hall in the country to feature rooms with such capabilities.

Additional work included a new chilled water HVAC system, plumbing, fire sprinkler, electrical, low voltage systems, stormwater, sanitary, fire water, and water mains. The new/remodeled facilities accommodate 832 student stations.

The project consisted of the addition of a new multi-story wing to the existing Brooks College of Health. The building is used primarily by the School of Nursing and Student Health Services. The new addition included 38,864 square feet of classrooms, laboratories, support facilities, offices for the Director of Nursing, student lounges, meeting rooms, classrooms, simulation labs, and computer labs. The Student Health Services component of the facility included administrative offices, doctors offices, exam rooms, patient counseling, lab rooms, a pharmacy, and support spaces.

This project provided a state-of-the-art school that accommodates 800 students. The new construction consisted of 100,280 SF, with a portion of the existing facility being remodeled and reused. This project was funded by a penny tax and was an especially significant facility for the community. CPPI strived to encourage local participation, which resulted in 70% of this project being completed through the utilization of local subcontractors and businesses.

Phase I of the Lake County Judicial Center complex consisted of the 320 office building, a parking garage and a central energy plant. The 320 building houses the offices of the County Tax Collector and the County Property Appraiser. The parking garage accommodates 1,800 vehicles. The central energy plant produces the HVAC chilled water systems to service the existing courthouse facility and is sized for future capacity for the expansion of the courthouse. Phase II consisted of an expansion of the existing Lake County Courthouse building.

The Patel Center for Global Solutions project provides a unique opportunity for the University of South Florida to connect with the community on a local and global scale. The building was designed to anchor the major axis through campus and be clearly visible from Fowler Avenue, the south boundary of the USF campus and a major Tampa thoroughfare. The project seeks to promote research in the fields of water and energy conservation and uses the building as an icon to symbolize this goal.  A major design element was the desire to have formal and informal interaction spaces to encourage and promote interdisciplinary discussion. This project is LEED Gold Certified.

This project consisted of the construction of a 104,717 SF facility with educational and research spaces, a linear accelerator facility for small animals, veterinary interventional radiology and cardiology facilities, 22 examination rooms and 12 surgical suites. Non-clinical spaces included in the facility are a 140-seat seminar room and space for educational programs. This is a LEED Gold Certified building.

The Heavener Football Complex project consisted of construction of approximately 31,332 square feet of new space, and the renovation of 18,380 square feet of existing space at the southwest end of the University of Florida’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The renovation and expansion included new offices, meeting rooms, weight room, interactive exhibition and reception area, a new Gator Room, and support space.

The Patient Tower and Cardiology Renovations project consisted of a new 4-story, 92 bed patient tower, which features a 12 Position Level II NICU. The first floor of the tower includes parking and a small public elevator lobby, while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors contain patient beds. In addition to the new tower, the project incorporated a three-level horizontal expansion to the Women’s Center parking garage adding 98 spaces and 25,106 sf of renovations to the 1st Floor Cardiology Department, including the addition of a cath lab and the relocation of Non-Invasive Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine.

The St. Augustine Government House is an urban land-locked project in the heart of St. Augustine’s historic district. The site is one city block containing 12 parking spaces and a courtyard. The site traces its roots to 1598 as the headquarters and residence for the Spanish Governor of Florida.  A series of governmental buildings occupied the site since then. The existing building, a 1937 Post Office and Customs House, retains some masonry walls of an earlier structure that served multiple functions for the community, the State of Florida, and the Nation. CPPI restored the courtyard walls around the parking lot and repaired the coquina wall to Department of Interior’s standards for historic preservation. CPPI modernized all exterior lighting with LED fixtures. CPPI and the University of Florida were able to adapt a historic building to meet the needs of today’s citizen and provide a new era of use to a historic structure while maintaining its historic character.

Lake Minneola High School was a phased project featuring multiple buildings designed to support nearly 2,000 students in 277,000 square feet of building space. The high school is located on a 60 acre site and included the construction of classrooms, administration, cafeteria, auditorium and gymnasium buildings. The facility also contains a parent drive, bus loop, service drive and parking.

Construction Cost: $6,500,000

Shady Hills Elementary School was a 63,000 square foot comprehensive renovation project. The existing school, built in 1974, was demolished all the way down to the existing masonry and steel structure. The entire HVAC system was replaced with new multi stage DX rooftop units and VAVs.  The entire plumbing system was replaced including all new underground plumbing.  New electrical, electrical systems, fire sprinkler system, and kitchen equipment were installed.

 Because there were no windows in the original building, 67 new windows were added to the structure. The project also consisted of new site utilities, a new storm water system, expansion of the existing wastewater treatment plant, new parking lots, and new aluminum canopies. Regularly scheduled community meetings were conducted and several teach-ins were conducted with the students.

The project also included a new parent drop-off/pick-up loop and drive, as well as a window replacement for Building I.

UF’s Basketball Practice Complex provides full-size practice courts and team spaces for the men’s and women’s varsity basketball programs. The building includes administrative spaces for both varsity programs, team rooms, weight rooms and training areas, together with state-of-the-art video technology. Elevated balconies over both practice courts provide an observation platform for coaches and players.
The impressive front-side rotunda, with its custom spiral staircase, and other public areas, showcases the Gators’ success with displays of trophies, banners, awards and the history of Gator Basketball. This facility has been used extensively as a model for other basketball powerhouse schools as they developed their own practice facilities.

This project consisted of the new construction of two practice fields, one for soccer and one for lacrosse, one competition field fully lit for lacrosse, grandstand capacity seating for 1,000 to 1,500 with press box, restrooms and concessions stand. Also included in the project scope was a building which includes locker rooms for two teams and meeting rooms. The lacrosse competition field is visually enclosed by the 12,000 square foot locker facility which not only houses the women’s lacrosse team, but provides support spaces that include visitors lockers, training facilities, equipment issue, and managers and coaches lockers. LEED principles were established during the early stages of the programming phase, which allowed for each LEED point to be uniquely evaluated and considered throughout the design phases of the project.

The UF Southwest Recreational Center Expansion consisted of an addition and renovation to the existing Southwest Recreational Center to meet the needs of the university’s growing student body and demand for athletic facilities. The expansion and renovation accommodates more intramural sports, personal training, and other recreation sport requirements, as well as alleviates overcrowding in the existing facility. New construction consisted of the new entrance, administrative and executive offices, cardio/strength training (two levels), activity room, 1/8th mile indoor jogging track suspended from the structure above.  Specialty systems include; athletic flooring, A/V and security systems, terrazzo, lutron shades, and multi color LED light fixtures. Renovated construction consisted of the new social lounge, personal training and massage, conference room, group bathrooms, locker rooms, day locker corridor.

RTI Surgical, Inc. is an industry leader in
tissue-based innovations for the repair and natural healing of human bone and other human tissues. RTI is one of the largest processors of precision-tooled allografts in the United States. To accommodate the growing needs of this bio-tech manufacturing company, CPPI was contracted by RTI to construct their corporate office complex, which includes a 65,000 SF manufacturing building, a 19,000 SF commons building, and a three story 65,000 SF office building.

As the premiere Toyota dealership in North Central Florida, this new facility includes a 20,000 square foot showroom, 15,000 square feet of office space, 15,000 square feet of parts retail and storage and a 25,000 square foot climate controlled Service Building. The service area consists of 39 in-ground lifts, various specialty service equipment, and car wash with underground water reclaim system. MEP & FP work included a fully fire sprinklered building, below slab exhaust evacuation system in Service Area, Carbon Monoxide monitoring system in
Service Area linked to roof-top fans and Rapid Roll overhead doors to quickly evacuate Carbon Monoxide if detected.

The Northeast Regional Transportation Management Center was a 25,000 SF single story service building constructed within the master planned Jacksonville Regional Service Center. The vacant parcel that this facility was built on contained existing underground infrastructure as sized for stormwater collection with piping to existing retention pond, plus existing water and sewer mains. Building features include a brick veneer, a sloped metal roof and a mechanical attic.

Flagler County’s Emergency Operations Center is a fully hardened, self contained hurricane facility that serves as the center of county operations under emergency conditions. The building is constructed of tilt wall concrete and structural steel and all building envelope systems are designed to withstand winds exceeding 140 miles per hour. This facility also includes an Emergency Vehicle Storage Shelter, a helipad and the county’s communications radio tower.

The Bed Tower Expansion project consisted of a two-story tower addition to South Bay Hospital. Additional components of the project included cosmetic upgrades to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the existing patient tower, a cosmetic upgrade of the exterior envelope, and the addition of a 64-car parking lot.

The Center’s goal is to provide a real world training ground for those interested in working in the emerging technology fields. For many, this facility will be the first rung on the career ladder.

Located on the Lake-Sumter State College South Lake Campus, the two-story 53,000 square foot Science and Nursing Facility develops workforce-ready nurses and healthcare professionals to serve the demanding needs of the surrounding community. The first floor of the new building includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer laboratory spaces and lecture halls, while the second floor includes a simulated nursing experience complete with nursing simulation laboratories, prep areas, and collaborative gathering spaces for training. The building includes support spaces, offices, and common area spaces. In addition, the facility incorporates the latest advanced technologies. Each classroom has wireless and hardwired data capability with an infrastructure for web-based instruction.

Oak Hammock features private residences, including 212 apartments ranging from studios to 2,350 square foot, three-bedroom units. There are 57 club homes and villas with 21 different floor plans ranging in size from 1,690 to 2,350 square feet. A 70,000 square foot common area features a performing arts center, art studio, business and computer center, bank, convenience store, hair salon and barber shop. The 22,000 square foot fitness center incorporates wellness programs, two heated pools, massage and physical therapy facilities, and cardiovascular and strength training equipment. Oak Hammock includes four venues that offer formal to casual dining, including a sports bar and ice cream parlor. An on-site pet clinic offers routine health checks and pet sitting services. Walking trails and gardens abound throughout the site, which has 24 hour gate-controlled security access. For those needing special medical care, the facility offers 37 private assisted living suites, 42 private skilled nursing rooms and private memory care suites for Alzheimer’s patients.

The Center was created to house four programs: the UF Shands Cancer Center; The UF Genetics Institute; The Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research and the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory, one of the nation’s premier forensic anthropology facilities. This 354,000 square foot center includes a vivarium, 200,000 square feet of research laboratories, and administrative, training and support space. The Biotechnology Laboratory Pavilion includes 30,000 square feet of research space, with core laboratory facilities for use by cancer and genetics research groups, as well as agriculture, medicine and environmental management researchers. The facility also includes a complete Central Utility Plant engineered for future expansion in this area of the campus.

The University of Florida’s Health Professions, Nursing, and Pharmacy Complex project consisted of a new multi-story, 173,000 square foot facility designed to provide educational, administrative and research space for the Colleges of Health Professions, Nursing and Pharmacy. The center consists of classrooms, lecture halls, teaching laboratories, administrative office space, faculty offices, research labs and support space. Students, faculty and staff have access to the latest state-of-the-art technology. Though this college is essentially one core building, each discipline uses its own entry with a distinct visual identity. This unique site design created a new northwest entrance to the Health Science Center complex and establishes outdoor courtyard areas to link with existing facilities and to encourage interaction between faculty, students and staff.

This project consisted of a 43,000 square foot addition to the Health Science and Nursing Program at Santa Fe College. This two story structure contains large auditorium classrooms, faculty offices, breakout labs and hands-on teaching facilities complete with patient beds and mock medical gas plug-ins. Another unique feature is the advanced Surgical Suite, complete with a scrub-in area, surgical classrooms and a nursing station and reception area.
