GAINESVILLE, Florida (May 10, 2019) – North Florida Regional Medical Center (NFRMC) will be holding a ceremony to celebrate the expansion of the hospital’s South Tower on Monday, May 13, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. outside the South Tower Conference Room. This ceremony will also kick-off Hospital Week, a week dedicated to honoring NFRMC employees and their contributions to the hospital and the North Central Florida community.

During the ceremony, members of NFRMC’s Administration will give updates on the upcoming construction project on the South Tower, which will expand the building by three floors and 78 private patient rooms. A new 850 spot parking garage is also being added to the facility to accommodate the projected staff and patient volume increase resulting from this new expansion. This $90 million project will contribute toward enhancing patients’ medical experience, and will add 269 additional jobs to the North Central Florida community. NFRMC staff will also be encouraged to sign a steel beam that will be used in the new construction after the ceremony.

“This new expansion just goes to show that growth and advancement is the North Florida way,” said NFRMC CEO Eric Lawson. “We are committed to providing the highest quality services and care to our patients, and this is just one of the many ways we are moving forward with that mission. As our mission statement says, Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. I am looking forward to celebrating this new growth with our amazing team and the community we serve.”

“Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) has had the pleasure of working with NFRMC since the early 90’s on a multitude of campus-wide projects, and we are humbled to carry on this partnership as NFRMC continues to grow as an integral part of the North Florida landscape and beyond,” said CPPI’s Executive Vice President, Vinnie Moreschi.
