CPPI to sponsor Girls on the Run Coastal Georgia and Lowcountry 5K events

February 13, 2019

Savannah, Ga. – CPPI has announced that it will be an Olympian Sponsor of the 2019 Girls on the Run (GOTR) Coastal Georgia and Lowcountry 5K run events. Girls on the Run hosts a 5k Celebration Run each spring and fall. The upcoming spring 5k is scheduled for May 4th, 2019 on Hutchinson Island.

The Girls on the Run spring and fall 5K events mark the culmination of each 10-week Girls on the Run program as program participants use their physical and emotional GOTR training to complete the celebratory 5k event. Families and friends of Girls on the Run participants are welcome to participate in the run as well.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through research-based curricula, which includes dynamic discussions, activities, and running games. The 10-week program drives transformative, sustained change in the lives of third to fifth grade girls in the coastal Georgia and lowcountry area.

CPPI has supported the Girls on the Run Coastal Georgia and Lowcountry program for seven years. CPPI’s Ann Kelly joined the GOTR board in January 2019 to ensure that the company stays connected to the GOTR organization and continues to support its vision.

“I joined the Girls on the Run board this year to become more involved with the wonderful things this organization does to help girls in our local community. Research shows that girls who take part in the GOTR program have improved confidence, increased physical activity and more critical life skills by the end of the program,” Kelly said.
