CPPI honored with ABC First Coast Eagle Award

August 30, 2019

Jacksonville, Fla. – Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) received an Excellence in Construction Eagle Award at the ABC Florida First Coast Annual Awards Presentation Banquet on August 23rd. The award recognizes CPPI’s Georgia Southern University (GSU) Interdisciplinary Academic Building (IAB), located in Statesboro, Georgia.

GSU’s new 110,000 square foot IAB houses interior design, fashion merchandising, and apparel design, history, and foreign language departments. Several of these departments were previously housed in modular facilities dating back to the early 1990s. Construction of the Interdisciplinary Academic Building has allowed students and staff to work from one centrally located building on campus.

Designed by architecture firm HOK, the building’s construction features slanted corbel brick wall, exterior mesh screens, and an atrium with significant use of exterior glass to provide an open aesthetic. The project was completed in just under 16 months.

The Excellence in Construction Awards represent the highest level of achievement in construction and honor the first coast area’s most innovative and high quality construction projects, safety programs, and diversity programs.
