CPPI Holds Topping Out Ceremony to Celebrate Milestone at Orange Park Medical Center

Orange Park, Fla. – CPPI (Charles Perry Partners, Inc.) celebrated a significant milestone last week at the Orange Park Medical Center (OPMC) Bed Tower Expansion project.

After numerous medical staff and subcontractors signed a decorated beam, an excited crowd saw it placed in the mechanical penthouse on Thursday morning during beautiful weather conditions. Shortly after the beam was raised, the CPPI team hosted subcontractors to a delicious lunch of Cowboyz Bar-B-Q.

The 101,435 square-foot vertical tower expansion will add four floors over the top of the medical center’s existing emergency department, giving OPMC a total of five stories. The second and third floor will provide shell space for future build-out opportunities, while the fourth and fifth floors will each have new 24-bed medical and surgical patient room units.

In addition to the tower project, CPPI is also building a 17,501 square-foot kitchen expansion and renovation, and a 5,116 square-foot central energy plant (CEP) expansion and renovation on the medical center’s campus.

The kitchen will be completely renovated and expanded, from underground utilities to an additional component. This will allow for greater kitchen capacity and the addition of a loading dock. The center’s CEP addition and renovation will expand the chiller plant and cooling tower yard. This renovation will allow the facility to maintain its cooling capabilities as it expands.
