CPPI Completes the Culinary Institute of the South in South Carolina

January 6, 2022

Bluffton, S.C. – Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) recently completed the Culinary Institute of the South at the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL).

The facility opened its doors to students and patrons in late November with a grand opening celebration. This followed the opening of enrollment for various associate degrees and college certificates in Culinary Arts, Hospitality/Tourism Management, and Baking & Pastry.

The institute accommodates up to 300 students and consists of a 30,000-square-foot culinary training facility featuring six academic classrooms, a show kitchen, two teaching kitchens, a baking lab, a lecture theater, and a teaching restaurant.

In addition, the Institute features an interactive museum on its campus, called the FOODseum.

The museum features immersive exhibits, as well as facilities designed to host hands-on seminars and guest lecturers. With a focus on the preservation and education of the Lowcountry agriculture and farming history, this is the first museum of its kind in the South, according to the TCL’s website.

The Culinary Institute of the South is located in Bluffton, South Carolina’s Buckwalter community, a 6,000 acre master-planned district for active family living.

CPPI partnered with KRA Architecture + Design on the project.
