CPPI Completes North Florida Regional Medical Center South Tower Expansion

June 21, 2021

Gainesville, Fla. – Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) recently completed the last phase of the North Florida Regional Medical Center South Tower Expansion project.

The project consisted of the addition of three floors atop the south tower of the facility, which added 78 new private patient rooms. The makeup of specialties for the rooms includes a new Intensive Care Unit, a new Postpartum and Antepartum Care Unit, an Orthopedic Unit, and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

In early February, the 18-bed Intensive Care Unit opened on the 5th floor. In November of 2020, the 30-bed postpartum and 10-bed antepartum unit on the 7th floor was opened, as well as the Orthopedic unit on the 6th floor.

In April, the 3rd floor’s greater than 8,000 square-foot renovation was completed, transforming the space into a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The unit added 13 new beds, opening up the ability for Level 2 and 3 neonatal care over a total of 25 beds. The renovation also added a new nurse’s station and additional support space.

NFRMC, a member of the HCA Healthcare Network, now serves as a 510-bed, full-service medical and surgical acute care center with the completion of the expansion. More than 100 additional jobs have been added to the North Central Florida community, according to a news release on NFRMC’s website.

“It’s been an honor to help facilitate in the enhancement of top-notch medical care within the North Florida community. After working on a multitude of campus-wide projects for NFRMC over many years, we continue to be humbled by these opportunities provided by our partnership with them,” said CPPI’s Executive Vice President/Principal Vinnie Moreschi.

In early 2020, CPPI completed a Design-Build parking garage on the NFRMC campus. The ground-plus-six level garage is more than 280,000 square feet and features 846 parking spaces, 2 elevators, and a new paved pathway from the garage to the NFRMC Women’s Center entrance. This was the fourth garage that CPPI has built on the medical center’s campus. The garage provides much-needed parking for patients, healthcare providers and visitors to the hospital.
