CPPI completes new Georgia Southern University Interdisciplinary Academic Building

September 13, 2018

Statesboro, Ga. – Georgia Southern University celebrated the completion of its new Interdisciplinary Academic Building (IAB) with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 12th. The 110,000 square foot building will house interior design, fashion merchandising and apparel design, history, and foreign language departments.

Designed by architecture firm HOK, the building’s construction features slanted corbel brick wall, exterior mesh screens, and an atrium with significant use of exterior glass to provide an open aesthetic.

Several of the departments now located in the Interdisciplinary Academic Building were previously housed in modular facilities dating back to the early 1990s. Construction of the IAB allows students and staff to work from one centrally located building on campus.

CPPI completed the project in just under 16 months. Senior Project Manager Josh Mayberry said, “CPPI is very pleased to be part of the new IAB project at Georgia Southern. We’re proud to provide a new learning space for current and future Eagles as the GSU campus continues to grow.”
