CPPI Completes Extensive HVAC Replacement at Teague Middle School of SCPS

September 13, 2021

Altamonte Springs, Fla. – Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) completed a comprehensive HVAC and chilled water system replacement in August at Seminole County Public School’s Teague Middle School in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

The project consisted of replacing all existing HVAC systems, equipment, and controls to extend the service life a minimum of 25 years and improve operational efficiency and design within current code standards.

The existing mechanical chiller yard and its associated concrete masonry unit wall was partially demolished and redesigned to accommodate two new 275-ton Stealth Air-Cooled Chillers and a new concrete drive and generator pad (for future use). As part of CPPI’s Value Engineering package, the new chilled water piping was run overhead to point-of-connection in the main mechanical room.

CPPI’s trade partners worked over two summers, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break to remove and replace 117 Variable Air Volume Terminal Units, 12 Air-Handlers, 8 Hydronic Pumps, 2 Boilers, 2 Air-Cooler Chillers, and the complete, integrated Building Automation System, all without any major shutdowns or displacements of students and staff. Working diligently with CPPI’s partners at Seminole County Public Schools and SGM Engineering, Inc., the team established a seamless plan that was executed to great success and the satisfaction of the owner and end-users.
