CPPI Completes Biology Field Research Center at UCF

November 17, 2020

Orlando, Fla. – Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) recently completed an 8,000 square-foot renovation of Building 92, also known as the Biology Field Research Center, on the main campus of the University of Central Florida.

The existing, unused biology building was brought up to code to house flammable storage (specimens). It now has a two-hour rated Flammable Storage Room, Processing Lab, Growth Chamber, Field Work Area, and Class Laboratory.

The Flammable Storage required dedicated exhaust and a 5,000-gallon underground waste holding tank, which made for an intricate installation due to the area’s very high water table.

The facility is also now conditioned by an all-new outdoor air-handling unit, indoor split-system Air Conditioning unit, and two high-plume exhaust fans. A backup generator and a Growth Chamber were also installed.

The building will serve as a Biology Lab and Classroom with Flammable Storage (Specimens) for the UCF Biology Department.

The project was completed in partnership with RLF Architects.
