CPPI awarded Orange County Public Schools Exceptional Student Education Campus Consolidation contract

Orlando, Fla. – CPPI was recently awarded the Orange County Public Schools Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Campus Consolidation project at 1900 Matterhorne Drive, Orlando, Florida, 32818.

The project involves the construction of a replacement facility for the existing Magnolia ESE School, with an addition of a new Behavior Center facility on the same site. The schools will have separate identities, addresses and facilities on campus.

The Magnolia School replacement will be a specialized learning environment serving 160 students aged 12 to 22 with significant cognitive, physical or behavioral disabilities. The school will be a one-story, approximately 73,000 square foot building with full-time ESE classrooms, a science lab, a math lab, an art lab, a music lab, resource rooms, a therapy room, a sensory room, a residential apartment life skills lab, a large physical education room, a dining/multi-purpose room, a kitchen, custodial spaces, a media center, administrative suite and program support staff offices.

The new Magnolia School will also offer a vocational program with additional lab and support spaces designed specifically to train for future employment.

The new Behavior Center will be a facility focusing on the needs of 120 kindergarten to grade 12 students with emotional and behavioral disorders. The center will be 86,800 square feet of buildings with full-time ESE classrooms, computer labs, science labs, resource rooms, therapy rooms, a sensory room, art labs, music labs, a gymnasium, dining/multi-purpose rooms, a kitchen, custodial spaces, a media center, an administrative suite and program support staff offices.

Like the Magnolia School replacement, the Behavior Center will also offer secondary student vocational instruction, with specialized lab and support spaces.
