CPPI Breaks Ground at Capital Regional Medical Center
Tallahassee, Fla. – Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) gathered with staff and leadership of Capital Regional Medical Center recently to break ground on a new Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Center.
CPPI was selected as the provider of Preconstruction and Construction Management services for the new facility, as well as a renovation of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The new 27,000-square-foot Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Center will feature 20 private patient rooms, a dining room, and a gymnasium. An enclosed breezeway will be constructed to connect the new building to the main hospital, allowing for easy accessibility between the rehabilitation facility and the hospital’s acute-care services.
“As our community continues to grow, there is a need for advanced inpatient rehabilitation services close to home,” Alan Keesee, CEO of Capital Regional Medical Center, said recently in a news release on Capital Regional Medical Center’s website. “The Inpatient Rehabilitation Center at Capital Regional will offer those who have been critically ill or injured, continuity-of-care and access to an array of rehabilitative specialists helping them regain strength to live life to the fullest.” The facility will “increase access to healthcare, particularly for seniors, and bring more than 50 jobs to the community,” according to the release.
In addition, the 3rd floor will undergo renovation to add a 10-bed, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) enhancing the medical center’s around-the-clock care to infants.
CPPI has partnered with Dallas-based HKS Architects on the project. HKS has designed the rehabilitation facility with the potential for vertical additions in the future.
Capital Regional Medical Center is a part of HCA Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in the nation. The 266-bed acute-care hospital in Tallahassee, Fla., has served the Big Bend community of Florida for more than 40 years, according to HCA Healthcare.
