CPPI’s Brian Leslie places 10th in national Real Men Wear Pink fundraising campaign

Gainesville, Fla. – CPPI President/Principal Brian Leslie finished his American Cancer Society Real Men Wear Pink fundraising campaign with a tenth place national ranking. During his three month campaign, Brian raised $42,333 for breast cancer treatment and prevention, finishing first among the eight Gainesville Real Men Wear Pink candidates.
The Real Men Wear Pink campaign, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is an annual fundraiser in which male community leaders around the nation raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives, including innovative research, patient services, and education around screenings and risk reduction.
Brian’s journey with the American Cancer Society and the Real Men Wear Pink campaign began with his wife, Keri’s, breast cancer diagnosis in August 2017. Throughout the process of Keri’s diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, the couple learned that they know at least 60 women who have gone through, are going through, or have passed away from breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer type in women, after skin cancer. In 2018, about 268,670 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed. About 63,960 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS), a non-invasive and early form of breast cancer, will be diagnosed in women.
Support for the American Cancer Society and its breast cancer initiatives does not have to end at the close of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You can donate anytime to help the American Cancer Society fight cancer smarter, better, and harder. Donate online, by mail, or by phone at 1-800-227-2345.
