CPPI-sponsored Habitat for Humanity home reunites local family

October 24, 2017

High Springs, Fla. – October 24, 2017 – The dedication ceremony for the seventh home built by the Santa Fe Charles R. Perry Construction Institute and Alachua Habitat for Humanity was held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 24 at 25180 W US Hwy 27 in High Springs.

CPPI is proud to have sponsored the home construction for a family in need, and to have partnered with Santa Fe College, Alachua Habitat for Humanity, and the City of High Springs, all of whom made this home possible.

The family of Otis, Ivera, and their two daughters have put in hundreds of hours to help the construction team complete the house since it was placed at its final location in April. They officially became the new owners at the dedication ceremony on October 24th.

Before receiving this home, Otis and his family were living apart due to an illness in the family. For Otis and Ivera, homeownership also means reuniting their family.

In addition to providing a new home for a family of four, this house also supported the training program for Santa Fe construction students. Students and apprentices built the house in two sections over two semesters before it was transported to its current location.

CPPI has long-recognized the value of stewardship, and is very proud to volunteer its time and resources to give a dedicated, deserving family a home and a hand up.
